What is a watch party at Fortress?
A watch party is a live screening of a big event on the 10 metre LED screen in the Fortress Arena, with a room full of fans and the bar open. We've hosted esports tournaments, Formula 1 races, the FIFA World Cup, film screenings and game launches. Don't watch from home - come and feel the whole crowd react to every big moment.
Which esports competitions does Fortress show?
We show as many tournaments as the time zones allow. For League of Legends that means the big international events: First Stand, the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds). Check the events page for your venue to see what's coming up next.
Does Fortress open early or stay open late for live events?
Yes. The world's biggest competitions don't run on Australian time, so we open early and stay up late to show them live. If a final starts at breakfast time or runs past midnight, we'll be there for it. Session times are listed with each watch party.
Can I watch Formula 1 at Fortress?
Yes. We host F1 watch parties on the 10 metre LED screen, so every start, overtake and pit stop plays out at full size with a crowd of fans around you. Grab a drink and a bite from the bar and settle in for the race.
Does Fortress host film screenings and game launches?
Yes. We screen films on the big screen and host launch events for new games, including Final Fantasy XIV. Launch nights bring the community together to celebrate a new release with fellow fans.
Can I get food and drinks at a watch party?
Yes. Food and drinks are available at the venue all event long, from burgers, pizzas and wings to cocktails, beer and soft drinks. Arrive early to grab your food, claim your seat and be ready for the action.
Where are Fortress watch parties held?
Watch parties run in the Arena at Fortress Melbourne, 23 Caledonian Lane, LG Emporium Melbourne VIC 3000, and Fortress Sydney, Level 2, 28 Broadway, Chippendale NSW 2008. The Melbourne Arena seats 204 (up to 400 standing) and the Sydney Arena seats 156 (up to 360 standing). Check the event listing to see which venue is showing each event.
