Before you roll

Bring your own adventure, or ask about Arcune, Fortress’s original campaign world. Our hosts help you find a group and get started.

Crimson's Adventure Vignette: two adventurers packing for the road, a potion held to the light, a lute, a sleeping cat and a dog

Do I need any Dungeons & Dragons experience?

New players are welcome. A Fortress host can help you meet the community and get involved. Games are run by players, so the level of experience and available space vary from table to table.

Who runs the games?

The players. Each table is run by its own group and dungeon master. A Fortress host is there to welcome people and help them get involved.

Can I bring my own group or campaign?

Yes. Bring your group and campaign, and check the session details at your chosen pub before heading down.

Can we play our own games or try a Fortress campaign?

Both are part of Dungeons & Flagons. Bring your own game, or ask your host about the Arcune campaign material available at your pub. They’ll help organise groups and get you started.

I don't have a group. Can I still come?

Yes. Say hello to the host, who can help with introductions. Joining a table depends on the groups and spaces available on the night.

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring dice, character sheets and books if you use them. If you’re new, let the host know when you arrive so they can help you get involved.

Do I need a ticket?

Check the session details at your chosen pub before heading down. Entry is free, and availability depends on the night.

How much does it cost?

Nothing to play. Food and drinks are sold by the pub as normal.

Can under 18s come along?

Sessions run inside the pub, so the venue's own rules for minors apply. Check with the pub before bringing anyone under 18.
